Did you like the finale? What do you think she's gonna say?

Hm I certainly don’t hate it, to be honest I think it was very them? Of course we all expected some progression at this point, we cannot justify every decision we make saying “oh this is who I am so deal with it”, because we all can and should change. But I think Castle and Beckett are not there yet (and I know they should be, but they aren’t). And as much as I love Marta, I think she gave him the wrong advice when she resumed something complex to the fact that he hadn’t proposed yet. There isn’t a ring on her finger, is there? You don’t hold back, why are you holding back now? All these questions led him to think that this was his mistake, that by proposing he would be fixing everything, saying what she needs to hear. And he is not wrong, Marta is not wrong, but the way she said it was misguided, imo. What she meant is that he needed to put his feelings out there, really show her what he wants. And his intentions when he said “whatever happens, whatever you decide” were beautiful, were right, he just didn’t need to give her a ring to prove it. But that’s who he is, and we are back to what I said before, this is who they are and their behaviors and the way they deal with feelings should be changing by now, but they aren’t. She hides, she’s afraid, she had decided to go to the Hamptons with him but didn’t have the courage to say it when she saw Gina. She didn’t call him after the shooting, she loves him fiercely but doesn’t know how to express that in words, she starts asking herself questions like “is this real? is this serious?” when it’s so OBVIOUS it is.. just because she’s afraid to ask him. Asking him, talking to him would be easier, we all say that, but it’s not that easy. Not for Beckett. And Castle.. Castle had 24632 opportunities to tell her he loved her, there were times you could see she was waiting and hoping for him to say it, but he only said it when she lying there, bleeding on the grass. Do you remember last season? When he found out about her lie and we were miserable for a couple of episodes because all they needed to do was sit and talk like two adults, but they didn’t. They got together but that characteristic of their relationship didn’t change.

So we certainly can hope for more, expect more, but we always knew this is their biggest and most challenging problem. This whole storyline, in my opinion, was created so they finally realize that. They never talk about where they’re going, and she getting the job means they’ll have to. “And maybe that’s not such a bad thing”, Lanie said. This is how I’m seeing things. It’s not a bad thing, it’ll lead them to maybe solve or at least acknowledge that the lack of communication is their biggest challenge to overcome.

And I know the proposal was rushed and it shouldn’t have happened, but it was his way of saying I want us to be together not matter what, and that’s what she needed to hear. Not with those words, but maybe it’ll answer the questions she’s been asking herself for weeks now. I think she won’t say yes, but won’t say no either. Hopefully it’ll lead them to talk. Or, maybe, we’ll never see what she said. The show will return with her working in DC and realizing it’s a mistake, she belongs with the NYPD. Maybe he’ll scare her, maybe she’s gonna think he proposed not because that’s what he wants, but because she was leaving. I want the first option, but knowing how the show works, idk if it’s gonna happen. Marlowe’s interviews in the coming months will probably give us a good idea of what he’s planning. I still trust him. Castle broke my heart several times in a lot of ways in previous season finales and it was always worth it, so I’m hanging on to that.

I’ve decided I want more. We both deserve more.

I know you. You do not hold back. Except this thing with Katherine. It took you what? Three years to tell her how you felt, another year to act on it, and now, first sign of trouble you’re ready to run. Why?

❝Oh my God. The finale is so — I don’t even have a word to describe it. It’s phenomenal, and it is sexy. And you’re going to be crying. You’re going to be crying, but it’s going to be a good cry. We’re going to touch your heart. We’re going to reach inside of your heart and grab it and squeeze it and hold it tight. It’s so good.❞
